MMU -- the winner of MSC-APICTA 2005


The MSC-Asia Pacific ICT Awards (MSC-APICTA), under the patronage of the Prime Minister of Malaysia, YAB Datuk Seri Abdullah Haji Ahmad Badawi, provides a platform to stimulate creativity, innovation and excellence in ICT in Malaysia, benchmark Malaysian ICT products and solutions, and to recognise outstanding achievements in ICT, of students, technopreneurs, SMEs and organisations with operations in Malaysia.

Winners of MSC-APICTA represent Malaysia at the international Asia Pacific ICT Awards (APICTA), which is hosted annually in one of the APICTA Network member economies.

The highlight of the awards was the presentation by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi of the Prime Minister's Award to winner of the Best Among the Best award won by Camtech Asia IT & T Sdn Bhd.

Among the winners of the best in the industry awards were Provin (M) Sdn Bhd (Health Care), Dagang Net Technologies Sdn Bhd (e-government & services), TISS MSC Sdn Bhd (Security) Esteem Innovation Sdn Bhd (Industrial Application) and BSMART Technology Sdn Bhd (Communications Applications).

Camtech Asia IT & T Sdn Bhd (CamTech) also won the best Financial Application award.

Three institutes of higher learning also won awards, namely Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) (Education and Training Application), Universiti Malaya (UM) (Best Student-Software and Hardware) and Multimedia University (MMU) ( Best Student-Creative Multimedia).

The two schools that received the awards were Sek Men Keb Raja Ali (Best Secondary Student Project) and Sek Keb Assunta Dua (Best Primary School Student Project).
