2-Mpixel Camera Phone for Youngsters


Pantech Co of Korea has launched a new 2-Mpixel camera phone, aimed at providing the optimal combination of camera and phone technologies, with a modern design for young, trend conscious consumers.

According to Sung-Kyu Lee, president & CEO of Pantech, the PG-6100 phone a clamshell design is aimed at early adopters keen to embrace new fashions, styles and trends.

The PG-6100 features an MP3 player, photo caller ID, WAP 2.0 and Java technology, Bluetooth functionality and a voice memo system. It also features a 2-Mpixel CMOS camera. The internal display is a 1.9-inch 260k TFT, and the external display is a 260k OLED. The PG-6100 weighs less than 100g and measures 80 x 47 x 24.9mm.

The PG-6100 will be available for purchase from the end of June in Russia and later in Asia. The retail price is expected to be US$370-400.
